Glitter, glitter everywhere

I love GLITTER & RHINESTONES!! There I said. It may even be considered an addiction by some. You can ask any of my friends, my cousin, mom, sister even my hubby can attest to my glitter/rhinestone fetish. I mean come on anything in life can be made better with glitter and rhinestones. [[No joke I want a bedazzler but the hubs won't let me because according to him couches covered in rhinestones are not comfy to sit one. Booo :( ]]

Well I recently made friends with an awesome author by the name of Ella Fox, you can find her here ..http://authorellafox.com/. Not only has Ella been a wealth of knowledge for me as I try to navigate the indie author world (she's an amazing lady always there to help and she has a fantastic sense of humor) but she too has a glitter fetish and told me about something so awesome I almost pooped ... are you ready? Here it is ....

Yes those are indeed wine glasses done in glitter. Absolutely gorgeous! And they inspired me to create my own. Ella was kind enough to send me the links to several youtube tutorials and then walked me through how she did it.
Here are the steps to making your own beautiful, glittery wine glasses.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
set of wine glasses (you can use ones you have or hit up your local thrift shops or dollar stores)
modge podge (any local craft store will carry)
Krylon Acrylic Spray or Triple T
super fine glitter (Martha Stewart makes a fantastic set of super fine glitter)
painters tape

1. First you have to pick your design. I decided for my first time I'd go simple and just do the stem of the glass. Then using a paint brush cover the area in modge podge
2. once the area is covered in modge podge coat the glue in glitter. You will need to repeat this step 3-4 times in order to get good coverage. Give it about 20 minutes between coats
3. After you apply the final coat let it dry overnight.
4. once the glitter modge podge layers are thoroughly dry cover the glass that doesn't have glitter with tape so that the spray doesn't get on this part.
5. With the glittered area uncovered spray 2-3 coats of your sealing spray making sure to wait about 30 minutes between coats
6. After you apply the final coat again let the glasses dry for 24 hours.

AND VOILA MINE ...

Wishful Thinking

You probably didn't know this but I wrote a YA book many many moons ago and after a long shelf life it's finally going to be released into the wild world of books. Wishful Thinking which is my books very colorful name will be available for purchase on 9-1-14. Without further ado here is its glorious cover and synopsis.

Synopsis:
Seventeen year old James Castle Jr. has rugby to deal with the pressures of high school. Fights with his girlfriend, his dad’s constant blame game and graduation anxieties all work out on the field. Every pass, tackle and scrum works out a kink.

That is until rugby gets suspended.

Without rugby as an outlet he has no idea how to deal with stress or the feelings of fear plaguing him since the break-in at home. James walked in on a burglar who knocked him out and left him with a concussion.  Now, James keeps seeing a little girl with pigtails everywhere. Great, he can add delusional to the list of shit he can’t deal with.

What makes the situation weirder, if that’s possible, is this little girl looks a lot like the new girl at his school, Claudia.
He can’t explain the connection he feels to Claudia, it’s not lust or friendship even, but it’s there.
Everything ties to one event; a hit and run accident he was the victim of fourteen years ago. An accident he doesn’t remember. An accident his father never told him about. An accident that wasn't in fact an accident. It seems someone from his father’s past is hellbent on revenge and this time they plan to make sure James is dead. James will have to remember the past or else be caught in a killer's crosshairs

Book 3 ... does it have a name yet?

As you may or may not know, I'm working on book three in my vampire series ADIB. Tentatively titled After Death, though the name may and probably will change. What else you may not know is that this book is slowly killing me. The Fugees wrote their Killing me Softly song just for me and this book.

Just kidding!! Kind of. In the words of the great Shakespeare, "parting is such sweet sorrow", that is where I find myself now. Sad that when this book is done Callum and Lendyn's story will be over. [Cue sad, tear jerking music here]

Anyway, how about I give you a sample of book 3 ... just a sliver. I picked a random chunk. Hope you enjoy.

I started connecting the polka dots on my skirt in an effort to distract myself so I didn’t think about the question nagging me.
He placed his hand over mine, his thumb rubbing against my wrist, disrupting the square I was building with the dots around my hands. “Ask,” his voice whispered in my ear.
Man if only those shots would kick in then maybe this conversation might not be so damn awkward. I took a deep breath. “How do you know—”
Callum cut me off, “Please don’t doubt my feelings for you, just because I haven’t loved anyone else doesn’t mean I don’t know what it is. Would loving countless women somehow make my love for you more sincere.”
“No.” I met his eye, “No it wouldn’t.”
He kissed my forehead and then pulled away, “Yet, you still looked troubled.”
My mind shifted gears, “But you said you’ve been with one, you know,” I swallowed, “woman?”
He nodded.
“I mean physically you’ve only been with one?”
“Is there something wrong with that?”
I shifted in my seat. He’d only had one lover and he’d never been in love before. It’s not that I didn’t believe him I guess it worried me a little. All this build-up and anticipation from waiting. What if it turned out to be a disaster? I met his eye. No worries, I could train him.
His brow scrunched, “What?”
“Nothing, it’s surprising is all. You’re 280 years old, I’m thirty-one, practically a baby by comparison yet I’m the experienced one, it’s just weird.”
He seemed confused or maybe he was upset. Did I hurt his feelings? “Honestly, there’s nothing wrong with it, I mean there really isn’t.” I’m not sure if I was trying to comfort him or convince myself it didn’t bother me.
He scooted closer, his hand resting on the tip of my left knee, his grip tightening there. “Would it help if I said I thought my one time could become something like love?”
“Hell no it wouldn’t, that would make it worse.” His hand moved higher. “Not only does that make me insanely jealous, but it also makes you seem all virginal like one day,” oh my god my face was flaming,  “I’ll deflower you or something.”
He arched his brow. God he was handsome. “Deflower?”
His hand moved higher up my leg resting over my thigh. His fingertips skimmed the hem of my dress. He leaned over, his lips right at my ear. “Are you worried I can’t satisfy you?”
“No,” my voice squeaked. Of course I was, but I couldn’t tell him that. My attention turned to his hand which he then slid up under the fabric of my dress. He whispered, “You are afraid that I’ll be a bumbling fool?”
